Building et history

CONTEST 38 polyester ketch-rigged yacht built in 1981 by the Conyplex yard (Netherlands), to the designs of architect Dick Zaal.
Monolithic polyester below the waterline, fibreglass balsa above the waterline, the joint between the hull and deck is an inward-turning flange with a 7-inch centre distance, covered with fibreglass and topped with a teak batten. The marine plywood bulkheads are glued to the hull. All joinery is in high quality varnished mahogany with a satin finish.
